Description
Aquavitro Plant Propel is a concentrated source of ferrous iron that is designed to promote plant growth. It contains a mixture of readily available and time-released iron, and also helps convert existing ferric iron into the more usable ferrous form. This is important because iron is immobile in plants, meaning they cannot transfer it from older leaves to new ones. Deficiency symptoms, such as yellowing leaves and stunted growth, are more likely to appear on new or young leaves. To use, 5 mL should be added to 200 L of water three times per week, or as needed to maintain a level of 0.10 mg/L iron. Aquavitro Plant Propel is similar to Flourish Iron, but contains two types of iron and a reducing agent to convert ferric iron into ferrous form. It is available in a 350ml size.

Aquavitro Plant Propel
Concentrated (10,000 mg/L) source of ferrous iron
Propels plant growth
Mixture of readily available and time-released iron
Converts existing ferric iron into ferrous form
Iron is immobile in plants; this means that plants cannot deliver iron from older leaves to new ones. Therefore, deficiency symptoms appear first on new or young leaves. Because plants use iron to produce chlorophyll, a lack of iron results in chlorosis, or yellowing, of the younger leaves. Stems may also appear short and slender. If the deficiency is severe and prolonged, each new leaf emerges lighter in color than the preceding leaf.
propel is a concentrated (10,000 mg/L) source of ferrous iron. This ferrous iron is a mixture of readily available and time-released iron.
If iron is provided in the ferric form (Fe3+) then it must be reduced by the plant to the ferrous form (Fe2+) before it can be utilized. This process of conversion (known as reduction) requires the plant to expend physiological energy. propel provides iron already in the ferrous form thus enhancing iron utilization. In addition, propel contains a reducing agent that helps convert any iron present (such as iron from substrate) into the ferrous form.
Directions:
Use 5 mL per 200 L (50 US gallons) of water three times per week, or as needed to maintain about 0.10 mg/L iron.
FAQ:
What's the difference between Flourish Iron and propel? Is propel just Flourish Iron rebottled/rebranded?
A: Though they are the same concentration, propel has 2 different types of iron in it vs only 1 in Flourish Iron. Both propel and Flourish Iron contain the preferred form, which is the ferrous gluconate form of iron. This means that the plants will immediately uptake the iron into their cells, without expending any energy. In addition to the ferrous iron, propel also contains a time released iron that is slowly released over time, continuously giving the plants the iron that is required for growth. The propel also contains a reducing agent that will assist in converting any existing ferric iron (previously used product or in the substrate) into the preferred form of Ferrous iron.
